New to independence and London, gorgeous heiress Lady Caroline Delamarre wants to make the most of her life. And when Phillip meets her gaze, she knows the perfect place to start: in his arms …and in his bed. But what begins as a long night of breathtaking passion leads to more than the two bargained for. Haunted by troubled pasts and inescapable family entanglements, each of them must decide if they can risk a gamble on what might be true love.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Lord of the Rakes was a really good story about a woman Caroline who finally finds out about some money that she should have had but her father and brother kept from her for years. Caroline thought that she would be able to live her life when she came of age and not be kept in the house like her mother always was. Caroline felt like a prisoner and didn’t want to live her life that way. She vowed to never marry and be held down by another man again.

Caroline decided that when she goes into the city for her best friends wedding to be maid of honor she would lose her honor to the Lord of the Rakes Phillip. She figures she will never marry so why does she need to stay a virgin. After meeting Phillip Caroline decides that he isn’t the man that everyone says he is.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I haven’t read any historical romance stories in a long time and this was a great one!
