Sometimes Jagger hated his job as security manager at Club Tabu. The theme party was a safety nightmare, taxing his volatile temper. In a foul mood already when he found a beaten man in the alleyway, he fought flashbacks caused by PTSD. Thinking this was someone he could save, Jagger took the stranger home.

Unsolicited aid from a stranger was not what Zayne expected when a mystery man found him. Despite the comforting physical reaction to Jagger, Zayne couldn’t afford to trust. His brother’s life depended on him. What else could he do but run?

With time running out, desperation drove Zayne back to ask Jagger for assistance to save his career, possibly his life and his brother’s. Can a last-minute plan work, or will Jagger lose the chance to find the one man who could heal his battle worn body and heart?

Victoria’s Thoughts

Master Squire is the sixth book in the Masters of Tabu series by Gray Dixon.  While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Jagger is the security manager at Club Tabu.  He is continually frustrated at his job because his partners do not listen to him.  Jagger has a volatile temper with is pushed to the limits when the other do not listen to him.  Jagger also struggles with PTSD from his time in the military.

Zayne is a doctor who is in over his head.  He keeps baling out his brother from trouble and the latest problem his brother gets involved in is no different.  Zayne is slow to trust anyone because is all the problems his brother has landed him in.   However, Zayne is attracted to Jagger and when they meet again wants to get to know him.

The connection between Zayne and Jagger is intense.  Jagger is attracted to Zayne and wants to help him even as he does not know the reason Zayne is on the run.  The sex scenes were scorching.

I found this book well written with a realistic plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating.  While the ending was a little predictable, this story has twists and turns that keep you interested all the way through. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
