Reviewer’s Thoughts

I really enjoyed “Mastering Angela”.  Once again, Tara Rose brings is a very well written, clever, and fun read.  Angela, Nash, and Ian really click.  The title pretty much says it all.  Angela asks Nash and Ian to train her to be a submissive, and they are more than willing to do just that.  Of course, like all of Tara’s books, there is another story going on in the background, and it’s quite interesting.  I’m not going to give spoilers, but let me say that a less than honest fellow has come to Passion Peak, Colorado to do some less than honest things.  You’ll have to read the book yourself to understand what I mean 😉

I think the reason that I liked this book so much is that Angela was truly “mastered”.  She’d had her fantasies, but she’d never had the proper experience, and she had no real knowledge of BDSM protocol.  Nash and Ian are patient Doms, and they never push Angela to do anything she wasn’t comfortable with.  They taught her the importance of a safe word, and they were actually concerned with her hard limits.  Certainly there were punishments, but they were never just for punishment’s sake.  With every Tara Rose novel, I learn a little bit more about the lifestyle, but it’s never thrown in my face or overwhelming.  The scenes are sexy.  In fact, they’re really, really HOT, but it’s the way that the three interact with each other outside the bedroom that make the story great.

As usual, we meet other characters from town, and they always play a part in what’s going on in the background, and of course, they’ve already had, or will have, their own story eventually.  This is the second book in a five book series, but you can read it as a stand alone.  However, I do recommend that you start with the first, “Seducing Carma”.  This way, you’ll be in on the beginning of the underlying mystery.  As I mentioned, this is a BDSM oriented menage book, so there are toys (floggers, restraints, etc.) and impact play involved.  It’s not constant, and it does play an important role in the story. Also, there is no intimate contact between the men.

I highly recommend this book.  It’s very satisfying.
