When a stranger shows up in her front yard claiming he’s her mate, Ari Fallow wants to laugh in Dane Griffin’s face. But the sleek, sophisticated jaguar makes her hormones hum with a desire she can’t deny. She almost wants to believe his claim that she’s been his since birth.

Her father, however, is still sore over the fact Dane marked her when she was only minutes old. After summoning a pack of wolves to their quiet community for Ari to make her own decision about which male she wants, Dane’s original plan to sever his ties to Ari fly out the window. He can’t lose her again. This time, he’s playing for keeps.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Mates Since Birth is a quick, fun, steamy read. Dane is a young boy afraid that his nanny and her child will die. The baby girl, Ari, is born but in distress, and Dane helps soothe her the only way he knows–hence the title mates since birth.

After a separation Dane finds Ari and strips..giving Ari a good view of what she’s been missing. I thought this part was hilarious. Rarely does a story even a novella jump right in and describe body parts. The storyline had many different twists and there was friction between Dane and Ari and so much discord between Dane and Ari’s father that it almost cost them their lives. The story was funny, sweet, sexy, and very enjoyable. My heart broke for Dane, but I was so impressed with the strength of his character and his fight for what was his. He was my favorite character. Ari’s dad was my least favorite character. He was stubborn to a fault.

There won’t be any great surprises or revelations in this book, but if you’re looking for a quick, hot read that keeps you engaged this is it.
