The harder they play...the harder they fall.

After publicly self-destructing over a heartbreak a year ago, bestselling romance writer Piper James is now making nice with her publisher by agreeing to teach Hollywood's favorite action star how to act like he's in love. Only playboy Mick Blackwell has no clue what love looks like.

When a seductive heat ignites between Piper and Mick, she jumps at the chance for a bit of fun between the sheets, but with two stipulations: she's kept out of the public eye and things end when she returns to New York. Only Mick keeps changing the rules on her. Tempted by America's favorite bad boy, Piper is wondering how far she's willing to bend...

Even though this book was published a few years ago, it is still a great read. Β It has all the elements I enjoy in a good story; a sexy dirty talking movie star, a spunky romance writer, sizzling chemistry, banter, good solid writing and charismatic characters.

Mick Blackwell is the sexist playboy in Hollywood. Since he has never been in love, he is having a difficult time portraying a man in love in his newest film. Piper is a romance writer and she is brought in to try to improve Mick’s performance.

There is a lot of sizzling chemistry from the moment Mick and Piper meet. They have both been hurt in the past and agree to have a good time together and neither of them expect anything more. Until they realize they are falling for each other. I love both of these characters. Mick is sexy, bold, charming, dirty talking and under all his arrogance, he is also vulnerable. He is used to women falling at his feet but Piper is different and she intrigues him. Piper loves bad boys and is instantly attracted to Mick but she has been hurt before and she knows she has to hold on to her heart. I admire Piper. She is smart and successful and knows exactly how to handle Mick. Mick and Piper are perfect together and I loved everything about this captivating, well written story. I highly recommend this one.
