Taking a break from dealing with his father’s clients on legal matters, Nicholas Haynes went out to the sea on his yacht—only to find a man floating in the water. The man was still alive, much to Nicholas’s relief.

Gregory Phillips was a private investigator and his last job almost turned him into fish food if not for Nicholas. Little did he know that the main suspect in his case was one of Nicholas’ father’s clients. When Nicholas insisted on taking care of Gregory after the incident that almost killed him, can he trust Nicholas enough with his life?

I enjoyed “Release Me”.  It was a nice way to spend an evening.  The story was short, but there was a lot packed into it…mystery, intrigue, some violence, and romance.

Nicholas, son of a millionaire banker, is out on his yacht when he sees a man in the water.  He looks dead, but he brings him on board.  He’s alive, but barely, and he calls ahead to the police and heads to shore.  Gregory is a privae investigator hired by the family of a man who was murdered.  He’s gotten too close to something that he shouldn’t have.  Nicholas feels rather responsible for Gregory and spends a lot of time at the hospital with him while he’s recovering.  Not only does he feel protective, he feels a growing love for him as well.  When things start to get even more dangerous, he brings Gregory back to his apartment to keep him safe.  The romance between the men is very sweet.  As I said, it’s a shorter story, so there’s not a lot of time to have a big build up to it, but it doesn’t feel very rushed.  They’re very sexy together.  However, I feel I should say that, if you’re looking for a lot of hot, sweaty sex scenes, you won’t really find them here.  There are a few little moments, but most of it is implied.  It doesn’t matter though, the guys are very steamy together, and it’s obvious.

I won’t tell you anything else about the story because I don’t want to give away the whole thing.  Just trust me here.  Ms. Jenna has written a crime/mystery story that is interesting and exciting.  My only complaint about the whole book is that I wish it was longer.  It’s ripe for at least 30,000 more words.  I’d jump on that.  Perhaps she’ll read this review and consider doing just that.  **wink wink**

I am definitely recommending this book.
