20499642Orphaned by tragedy, Rein Mackenzie was taken in by his benevolent uncle at the Kinnison ranch alongside two others abandoned at a young age. Now, he and his ‘brothers’ carry on Jed Kinnison’s dream of making the ranch a haven for those who need hope. But when a woman arrives claiming to be related to the Kinnisons, she brings danger-not only to his heart, but to those he calls family.

Liberty’s presence is a surprise to the family she’s never met, and while she yearns to belong, she knows her presence is a reminder of their painful past. Fearless, she dives in, losing her heart to the ranch, to the community, and to an unexpected summer fling.
But when dangers from her past catch up to her, they may cost her everyone and everything she has come to love.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

The story starts with Rein, Dalton and Wyatt getting things ready for Wyatt’s wedding, working on plans on turning their mentor and father figure Jed Kinnison’s dreams into reality and also preparing for Dalton and Wyatt’s step-sister’s visit. A step-sister that they have never meet. One thing’s for sure though, nothing can prepare the men, or the people of End of the Line, Montana, for Liberty Belle. She is wild, eccentric and tight-lipped about her reasons for being at the ranch. Has she brought trouble to this quiet town?

I enjoyed watching Rein and Liberty dance around each other as the sexual tension mounted. Rein was killing me with the “she’s just a kid” comments about Liberty. Yeah, Liberty is only twenty-one but she’s had to endure a lot in those years which has left her tough, a little jaded and hungry for acceptance.

Rein is dumbfounded when he first lays eyes on Liberty. Wanting her makes him uncomfortable because of how young she is, but Rein can’t resist Liberty’s charms—or tongue ring—for long. They make an agreement for a “no strings” casual type of thing to scratch each other’s itches, if you know what I mean 🙂

After nights—and days…and afternoons—of ecstasy, Rein and Liberty realize their hearts have become involved. Can the pair be brave and reveal their feelings for one another or will past sins threaten to destroy not only them, but everyone they hold dear as well?

I enjoyed reading about Rein and Liberty’s story but I found myself following Wyatt and Aimee’s storyline instead. Wyatt and Aimee are favorites of mine and I was just more vested in the continuation of their love story. I always love revisiting this small town and these wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to the next book where, apparently, there is a woman who can tame Dalton’s lust for life…and women. I’m not sure if that’ll happen but it will definitely be fun to witness! Another heart-warming read from Amanda McIntyre!
