Only the hottest sex can cool a wolf in heat…
After her sister is bitten by a werewolf, geneticist Sophia Reece begins researching shape-shifters and isolates a gene she calls Furry Beast–FB for short. But in her excitement over her discovery–dancing in the lab is never a good idea–she has a teeny little accident with the samples, one canine, one feline, and winds up landing on the syringes, pointy side up.
Werewolf Chase is head over heels in lust with Sophia. He can’t stop thinking about the human’s sexy body or how badly he wants to get her naked. But she acts as if he has fleas. So why, all of a sudden, does she stare at him like a wolf in heat? And what smells like cat?
When she experiences her first mating heat, Sophia isn’t prepared for the new feelings she’s experiencing, and her secret desire for Chase refuses to remain under wraps. For Chase, this is his wildest fantasy come true–to finally get his hands on the curvy, caramel-skinned Latina. But when some serious predators come sniffing around her research, Sophia will have to find out what she’s really made of, and Chase will have to decide if he’s man–or wolf–enough to make things permanent…

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Our heroine is a verifiable genius who has finally managed to isolate the genetic code that controls shifting. This is great. Her sister who was changed by a rogue after an attack should be thrilled. Except that she’s perfectly happy as a werewolf shifter with her new mate. Sophia proves to all that no one is infallible, not even geniuses. This brilliant scientist is so exhausted from working tirelessly that she causes a huge calamity at the lab and inadvertently injects herself with not one, but two, shifter DNA sequences causing herself to accidentally be infected. Chase, alpha of the Black Meadow Pack, knows Sophia is his mate. He can’t get near her without wanting her. But how do you convince a woman who won’t even be in the same room with you that you’re destined to be together forever? This is his dilemma until the day Sophia has her accident. Chase practically pounces on the chance to finally have what he wants.
This debut novel by paranormal author, Milly Taiden, is hot with a capital H! With such a strong start, I worried that it would not carry through to the rest of the book. Obviously my worries were unfounded. With characters so well rounded and descriptions so crisp that I couldn’t help but picture it in my mind’s eye, I found it hard to put Sharp Change down. I was engrossed in the first chapter and before I realized it, it was 2am, my eyes were burning from staring at my e-reader for hours and I had finished the entire book.

There is a certain deep sense of humor in Sharp Change that I can only assume comes from the author herself and infuses the characters and whole chapters. I spent several hours alternately chuckling and fanning myself. A comedy of errors brings these two together and I couldn’t be happier. Milly Taiden and her characters have officially earned a spot on my To Read list.
