23289064A brutal assault leaves high-powered CEO Shaw Cassidy’s memory shattered. Her isolated estate on High Lake Mountain should be her haven, but nightmares and eerie shadows threaten her sanity. Time is running out for special agent Cole Marinos. His undercover assignment: to protect his childhood sweetheart—the lost love who broke his heart. His reality: Shaw is suspected of treason. To uncover the top-secret government leak that will exonerate her, he must trigger her memories of her stalker…and of Cole’s long-ago betrayal.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

This was a book filled with mystery and suspense, it had you guessing at every twist and turn in the plot. I really liked this book for the pure fact that it had me trying to guess what was going to happen next, it kept my imagination thoroughly engaged and I was always wondering what was waiting for the couple on the next page. Through this all there was a real romance brewing. I love second change romance novels and this one was no different. Danger and excitement all of the time and a fabulous tale of past loves rekindled and reunited.

Shaw has been solely focused on her company and was a very strong and independent woman until someone tries to kill her one night. From that attack she suffers from amnesia and winds up a broken and scared, she is definitely not the same woman she once was. Then there is Cole, the very sexy neighbour and her former childhood love, but she has no recollection of him at all. As a task force member that should be just observing her from a distance and protecting her, he finds that he cannot stay away even though it is against his orders. The connection these two share from the onset isn’t something that can be denied, they are soul mates, Cole and Shaw belong together, and their love has never completely died. They must face a lot of past and present issues that keep getting in the way of pure happiness and I felt myself wanting to cheer them on every step of the way.

What I liked about this novel is that it has a heartfelt and sensual romance, while being able to unfold a larger storyline that was thrilling with and action packed plot that is full of suspense, mystery, danger and love lost and found again. I would highly recommend this book to those who love a great action, mystery, and romance novel all wrapped into one. I only wish there had been a bit more to the ending, other than that it was a fantastic read!
