The author of Risky Game returns with a football team owner who’s a real player, and the woman who’s ready to call him out on everything...Dot-com millionaire Jay McManus is discovering that owning a pro football team like the Baltimore Blaze isn’t easy. An anonymous blogger is out to destroy his reputation, and now his team is being sued by its own cheerleaders. If Jay’s not careful, he could lose bigβ€”and not just financially.Bridgett Janik’s brother may play for the Baltimore Blaze, but she’s not thrilled to be defending Jay McManus, the man who broke her heart. It’s bad enough she has to mingle with Jay during games, but working beside her former lover may be too much for her bodyβ€”and her heartβ€”to resist.Jay’s determined not to let Bridgett slip away from him a second time. But, as the two follow the mysterious blogger’s trail, secretsβ€”both past and presentβ€”are revealed, and Jay and Bridgett must decide if their relationship can be something more than just sleeping with the enemy.

I was excited to read the fourth book in the Out of Bounds series. Β All the books in this series highlight a player on the Baltimore Blaze football team, but this one centers on Jay McManus, the owner of the Baltimore Blaze.Β  Jay is rich, young and handsome and he encounters Bridgett Janik again, when she represents the team as their attorney.Β  The last person Bridgett wants to see is Jay, but she doesn’t have a choice when her boss insists she work on the case involving the Baltimore Blaze. Β Jay and Bridgett had a falling out years ago and it was never resolved. They both have hard feelings about the past, but there is still a lot of chemistry between them. Β When they are thrown together again, Β it is fun watching them dance around each other and see which one of them is going to break down first and admit they still care. There are flashbacks throughout the book, so we understand what happened to Jay and Bridgett when they knew each other years ago.

Bridgett has it all.Β  She has brains, beauty and she is a successful attorney. I found it easy to like her and understand how she is feeling.Β  Unfortunately, I had a harder time connecting with Jay and I thought he seems cold, selfish and arrogant, especially in the first half of the book. Β This story keeps you guessing and hoping these two will sit down and talk to each other and finally resolve all their issues from the past. Β This is a sweet, entertaining romance with some suspense thrown into the mix.
