Reviewer’s Thoughts

Loved, loved, loved this book!!!! I literally carried this book around and sneaked in reading it through work & play. I had to get to see if Leah and Colt would get their happily ever after. Leah McMahon comes back to town to take care of her dad. Local bad boy turned sheriff Colton Bea pulls her over. He realizes this is his “”one that got away””. My heart went out to him as he tried to execute a traffic stop while checking her out.

Leah hasn’t had an easy time of it since she had her heart broken by Colton and left town. She has fears, insecurities, and secrets she wants to keep hidden. Who would want to be the same fool twice? But Colton is determined to swallow his pride and risk everything to right his wrong. I thought this was going to be a run of the mill star crossed lovers reunited story, and I started out thinking that I really wasn’t going to like Colton. However, I found myself tearing up, laughing, and yes…outright crying—the ugly cry — at times. Colton was so sincere and their chemistry was off the charts. I ended up putting Colton on the short list for book boyfriend/husband. The story pulled me in right from the start and my emotions rode all the peaks and valleys.

The entire cast of characters added to the depth of Lea & Colton’s story. I didn’t realize this book was the last of a series, but that impressed even more because I had absolutely no problem following the story. However, I have to have the others now because I enjoyed it so much. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed it, and I look forward to reading the previous titles in the series.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
