From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next sizzling novel in the Rosemary Beach series, featuring well-known playboy and Blaire’s half brother, Captain.
The look on Rose’s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, she’d practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...
After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River “Captain” Kipling is ready to leave his sordid past—and his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateur—behind him. The only thing standing in the way of his “retirement” is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.
Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she’s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But there’s something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...

The Best Goodbye is book #13 in the Rosemary Beach series.  13 books, people.  This is a fantastic series from the 1st book with Rush all the way to Captain.  This is a second chance romance and I just happen to love these stories.  Combine it with all things Abbi Glines and you have another winner on your hands.

Rose moved to Rosemary Beach looking for Captain.  We learn right off the bat that she has an agenda.  I don’t want to ruin the plot so that is all I am going to say on this part of the storyline.  She changes her appearance enough that Captain doesn’t recognize her.  She wants to know him again.  She wants to see if the boy she fell in love with all those years ago still exists.  There first few run ins makes Rose think her decision to move was a mistake.

If you are following this series, you know very little of Captain except that he isn’t exactly a walking talking romance novel.  He seems dark and a little twisted and you have no idea why.  Captain isn’t nice to Rose and what he doesn’t realize is he is nasty because she reminds him of his childhood love Addy who was taken from him.  Captain’s past has scarred him to the point that he isn’t living and he has no desire to change.

Needless to say, these two dance around each other and eventually their pasts catch up with them.  I thought they way things played out between them seemed extremely believable and realistic which we all know sometimes romance books just don’t give us.  Pick up this second chance romance, you will not be disappointed.  Abbi Glines has a way of weaving you into her books and loving all of her characters even the ones you aren’t suppose to like.  I wasn’t interested in Captain’s story based off the rest of the series but I figured why not.  I’m so glad I did.
