With the death toll rising, Gabriel refuses to deny his erotic compulsion for Anika while tracking down the murderer. Reviewer’s Thoughts

As an avid reader of everything romance I was really looking forward to this book, especially after reading the description, but unfortunately I really didn’t enjoy it. This book was a little different, and I really had a hard time following everything that was going on. The plot was just ok and I felt that when it came to everything coming together in terms of the story line, the writing just felt disjointed. I didn’t feel the chemistry between any of the characters at all. There were parts in the book that just did not make sense and I found myself going back and forth between chapters and pages wondering if I had misread something or not.

The main characters, Anika and Gabriel, are odd and even more so when they are together. The connection they have is just not believable and felt forced. They meet when he saves her from a very upset husband of a just deceased patient at a hospital where she is investigating complaints. That is where there romance starts, if you could call it a romance. Then there is Anika’s boss who is also in the picture, and it all becomes kind of a convoluted love triangle. It just didn’t make much sense at all. Gabriel is a grieving widower with a young child and in the end there was supposed to be a connection between Anika and his daughter, but then at the same time there was nothing that lead up to it. Just like all of the the other relationships in the book, they just happened with no preamble.

I had a hard time getting through this book, the story line is not cohesive and skips around a lot, it was really hard to follow at times. The intimacy and chemistry was missing, the plot was hard to follow and there was not a lot I enjoyed when I read the book. It was definitely not what I expected when I started reading.
