Reviewer’s Thoughts

Kate leaves her home to house sit and hopes that the change will fix her eroding will to live. She does not seem to find joy in anything around her. Kate does try to use her new surroundings to jump-start her life again and make one last try at finding the joy in life around her. She spends a lot of time reminiscing of time past when she was happier. Maybe trying to either fix her issues or find out when things went wrong.

Kate meets a man online that is married and starts an online relationship with him. I also am leery of online relationships when you can’t see the other person because they can be anyone. It can also be dangerous. Miles seems to be in the same place Kate is. While I don’t see a future with Miles, he does seem to bring some spark back in Kate.

The Training of KateΒ is the first book in the Journey into Submission series by Khul Waters. This book is very well written. The overall plot was very believable. My biggest issue with the book was all the flashbacks. It was distracting and seems to inhibit the overall story line. In addition, I am not fond of the fact that the title of book seemed to have no connection that I could find to the actual book. I hope that this is addressed in future books. The main and secondary characters were interesting and mesmerizing. The ending of the story was a cliffhanger that leads to the next book. Overall, this was a great book. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
