Fame, fortune, and stadiums full of screaming fans are right around the corner for the rock band at the heart of Stina Lindenblatt’s steamy, intense Pushing Limits series. But it’s an epic love affair that steals the show in this opening act.
When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken familyβ€”he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.
Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?
With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soulβ€”and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

THIS ONE MOMENT is an entertaining story about a second chance at love. The story revolves around Nolan Kincaid, the lead singer for Pushing Limits, an up and coming rock band. Β Nolan and the band have been working non-stop for the past few years and it has consumed all of their time and energy.

Hailey is the hometown girl Nolan left behind to find fame and fortune. Β Nolan is on the road touring with the band when he learns Hailey has been hurt and is in a coma. Nolan has always been attracted to Hailey but he thought it was best to hide his feelings from her. He has never forgotten Hailey and even though they haven’t talked in a few years, once Nolan learns Hailey is in a coma, he flies to be with her.

Nolan is a nice guy and it is easy to like him. He grew up poor, had a tough childhood and has secrets he is afraid to share with anyone. Now, his life has totally changed. He is a famous rock star dealing with groupies, rumors about his love life, paparazzi and pressure from his record company.

There are flashbacks as the reader is taken back in time to when Nolan and Hailey are growing up together. I thought this was a good way to explain what they were feeling and why they made their decisions and understand how their relationship develops over time. There is also some mystery in the story as we try to discover who hurt Hailey. I was excited to read this story but I’m sad to say, it did not live up to my expectations. Β The characters didn’t have a lot depth and I never connected with them.
