I didn’t know what to expect when I first saw this book. I knew of the character of Sophie Baston from the other Bennet series. She was not a nice person. To say that she was the token villainess that tried to break up our hero and heroine ( Walsh and Kerris) is an understatement. So for the life of me I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea of her getting her own book. But I was curious and I did enjoy the other books in this series so I gave it a try. And I am glad that I did.
I have to admit, I didn’t like Sophie at all in the previous books and going into the first few chapters my feelings weren’t changing for her at all. But then Trevor Bishop came into my kindle and if the old cliché that all a man needs is a good woman then all Sophie needed was Trevor.
All through the first half of the book we see a little different side to Sophie and become more compassionate for her. By the end of the book I was Team Sophie and a lot of that had to do with Trevor. I couldn’t help but fall for Trevor he was just about the most supportive, loving and understanding book boyfriend anyone can ask for. And if Trevor saw something in Sophie, then I saw and felt it too.
Kudos to Kennedy for taking a character like Sophie Baston and taking her from someone I hated to someone who I could be admire and love.
I had the same feelings going it – wondering how on Earth she was going to be able to make Sophie likeable!
