unwoundIn this conclusion to the Mastered series by New York Times bestselling author Lorelei James, a man’s need for control is tested by the one woman he’ll risk everything for…

When sensei Ronin Black first encounters Amery Hardwick, the fire in her eyes ignites a sexual spark a thousand times better than the primal rush he used to get from mixed martial arts matches. She accepts his darker edges and admits to him that her desires aren’t as wholesome as he believed. And before long Ronin is grappling with emotions he’s never felt before….

Yet despite demanding Amery bare her body and soul to him, Ronin holds a part of himself back. When she learns Ronin’s secret and walks out, his life begins to unravel.  To regain her trust he must let go of his pride and prove to her that it’s more than passion binding them together. But after their private pleasures are made public, Ronin is unsure if he’s the right man for Amery. Can they face the consequences together? Or will their differences rip them apart?

Reviewer’s Thoughts

So here you are.  You’ve finished “Bound”, and your heart has been aching to find out what’s going on between Amery and Ronin (God, I still love that name!). Well, don’t you fear.  “Unwound” is here!!

Secrets were revealed.  Hearts were broken.  Lives were changed forever.  Lorelei James has you wrapped around her pinky finger now, doesn’t she?  Well, rest assured that she’s going to continue this story with the same intensity that she gave us in “Bound”.

It’s difficult to try to stay spoiler free here because I want SO BADLY to tell you every single detail.  In fact, I did just that with my husband because I just had to tell SOMEONE!  I will tell you that you’ll fall further in love with our hero and heroine.  I felt everything that those characters felt.  I’m also going to mention the background characters.  They’re a perfect fit for this story.  Knox, Molly, Chaz, Shiori, and the others are absolutely necessary, but they’re not invasive or in your face.  They create a balance with Amery and Ronin (Heavy loving sigh…).  In fact, I see so many ways that other stories could blossom out of them.

It’s been a very long time since a book has effected me so much.  Like “Bound”, “Unwound” has perfectly written erotic Shibari and Kinbaku. The sex scenes are still hot as hell, and the story continues to grab onto you and not let go until the very end.

I consider these books to be a gift from Ms. James. I love her “Rough Rider” series and her cowboys, but this series?  I’m going to be holding on to Amery and Ronin forever.  I will recommend these books for as long as I can breathe.  You simply MUST read them.
