A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW

Camille Lancaster is two months away from finishing her Master’s degree in counseling. She’ll finally be able to quit her current job as a stripper (one she’s only taken because it pays so well and she needs to finance her family). What she didn’t expect from this gig was finding a gorgeous millionaire with an offer she couldn’t refuse.

Jason Conner was drawn to Camille the minute he saw her at the club. He thinks she’s acting when she says she doesn’t know who he is, but he goes along with it anyway because he’s intrigue with her. When she refuses his advances, he’s more drawn and comes up with a new proposal. Quit her job and instead work for him as his “Personal Assistant.”

Camille takes the job, knowing the money will help her pay for her mother and brothers’ living expenses while she finishes up school. She’s determined to harden her heart towards the gorgeous Jason Conner, but the more she’s with him the more she falls. She knows it will be painful when things finally end with him, because why would someone like him what a girl like her. But she can’t stop herself for moving forward.

Jason and Camille both have trust issues. Jason, forever under the scrutiny of the paparazzi, is always waiting for the person that is going to give away his secrets. So he keeps everything close. Camille has always felt as if her mother couldn’t stand her and was let down, twice, by the men that said they loved her. So she has a hard time trusting someone, especially someone like Jason.

Jason and Camille have to fight to get to their happily ever after. There are manipulative parents (his and hers), invasions of privacy, and Jason’s frequent absences that play a huge role in trying to come between the two.

The ending of the story seemed a little rushed, but all in all it was a satisfying read.
