About Geneva Lee

Geneva Lee prefers fantasy to reality, especially fantasies involving powerful, dangerous, and sexy men. You can find her devouring a good romance while avoiding the laundry and the children. She lives in Kansas City with her family.

We’re kicking off a new feature at Cocktails and Books called, Top Shelf Favorite Authors. Β The review team is going to feature their favorite authors (everyday during our Blogoversary month, May, and every Saturday thereafter). Β To kick things off, Shannon is featuring Geneva Lee, author of the Royals Saga, and one of Shannon’s must read authors.

How did you discover Geneva Lee?

Last June, I signed up for a blog tour for a book that had an American girl (who was also half British) discovering a prince during her university graduation and being thrust into an erotic world she knew nothing about. I started the book on my flight home from London last summer, desperate for something to remind me of the wonderful experiences I just had. The only thing I could think as I delved into the world of Clara and X was β€œholy crap, the blurb doesn’t do this book justice.” COMMAND ME, the first book in the Royals Saga was so much more than I expected and introduced me to a new author who automatically went onto my autobuy list.

What is it about this author and their books that have your coming back for more?

I don’t know if it’s just one thing. In the Royals saga, it was the characters. X was so broken, such an ass, but he was someone I couldn’t help but love. Then there was Clara. At times a huge doormat to all things X, but then she’d straighten that backbone and stand up for herself or for the two of them and I couldn’t help but be 100% behind her. And it wasn’t just the main characters that drew you in. The secondary characters were almost as big. Just an integral to the story of X and Clara.

The storyline was a modern day fairytale, following Clara as she somehow managed to capture to the attention of a Prince who would do anything to make her a Princess. It was an emotional and often scorching hot story that kept all your attention focused on the book in hand and then the release date for the next.

What’s your favorite book of Geneva Lee’s? Β Why?

I think Crown Me is my favorite of the three books in the Royals Saga. X turns a corner and become more Alexander than he’s ever been before. He lets go of everything that happened in the past and becomes the man he probably should have been long ago had circumstances not been what they were.
