How did you discover Doris O’Connor?

I’m not sure how it was that I discovered Doris. I think maybe that it was because she is a member of one of the book pages I belong to on Facebook. I either clicked one of the books she was promoting, or I participated in a conversation she was involved in. Either way, I am so glad that I found her.

What is it about this author and their books that have your coming back for more?

I love her writing style. It has a very smooth flow to it. Her characters are always fully developed. All of them…even background characters. Also, she’s always writing new things…shifters, vampires, aliens, BDSM, MFM, MF, MM. It’s like she is always reinventing herself and her books.
I always tell everyone that Doris popped my shifter cherry. Her bears were, and still are, so sexy! She also wrote the my first alien story. I was never sure about them, but I checked hers out, and I realized that big, strong, hot alien warriors are AWESOME!

What’s your favorite book of [author’s name]?  Why?

I have lots of favorites, so it’s hard to pick one. I’m going to call it a tie between “The Housewife and the Film Star” and “Bought for Christmas”.

With “THatFS”, the hero is just so sexy. I mean, panties dropping to the floor and catching on fire sexy. Interestingly enough, after I got to know Doris a bit, I told her who I envisioned him to be, and she had the SAME vision! Sven was equal parts romantic and Alpha. I can’t even describe how perfect he is.

With “BfC” the hero is a brooding, Alpha bear shifter who “wins” the heroine from her selfish and stupid brother. He’s a Dom, but he’s not unkind, and his main goal is to take care of her. What I really loved about that book was that the love story wasn’t necessarily instalove, like a lot of other books, but when they DID come together, it was wonderful. Those bears…they know how to treat a woman!

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris… at least that’s what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.
