From the New York Times bestselling author of the Dream Man and Rock Chick series comes a brand new story about love, friendship, and the bonds of sisterhood. Evie is a bonafide nerd and a hyper-intelligent chick who has worked her whole life to get what she wants. Growing up, she had no support from her family and has only ever been able to rely on herself. So when Evie decides she wants to earn her engineering degree, she realizes she needs to take an alternative path to get there. She takes a job dancing at Smithie's club thinking this would be a quick side gig, where she can make the money she needs. But with her lack of dancing skills and an alpha bad boy who becomes overly protective, Evie realizes this might not be as easy as she thought.Daniel "Mag" Magnusson knows a thing or two about pain, but the mask he wears is excellent. No one can tell that this good-looking, quick-witted, and roguish guy has deep-seated issues. Mag puts on a funny-guy routine so he can hide his broken heart and PTSD. But when Evie dances her way into Mag's life, he realizes that he needs to come face-to-face with the demons of his past if he wants a future with her.

I was so excited to learn Kristen Ashley has a new book out and I was even more excited to learn it is a Rock Chick spin off. I am a huge fan of everything KA writes, so I was happy to read and review this book.  This engaging story is full of hot alpha males and spunky females, who manage to get into trouble and sometimes need rescuing.

I love Danny (Mag) and Evie’s story. They meet on a blind date and neither one of their lives are the same after that meeting. This story is full of entertaining characters, bad guys, protective alpha males and women with lots of attitude.

Evie is a stripper with a heart of gold and she is also a genius. Unfortunately, her family’s demands keep her so busy, she is having a difficult time finishing her degree. Evie is always helping everyone else and she doesn’t make time for herself.

Mag is a commando working for Hawke. They are investigators commando style. If you read Mystery Man, you know who Hawke is and if you haven’t read Mystery Man, I’d encourage you to do so.  It is one of my favorite KA books. Mag is a good guy, but he has some issues from his past that he is trying to avoid dealing with. Mag is a protective alpha male and from the minute he meets Evie, he is in full protection mode and of course, Evie tries to fight him.

All the entertaining characters and their crazy antics make this a captivating story.  The story and dialogue are fun and engaging and I enjoyed all the bantering back and forth between all the characters.  The Rock Chicks get into the mix and many other characters from past books make appearances, which add to all the rollicking fun. This is a wonderful start to the new Kristen Ashley Dream Maker series.
