Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Holding You by Kelly Elliott

HOLDING YOU is the story of Lauren and Colt.  These two had been in love with each (without the other one really knowing) for a while, but stubbornness and misunderstandings have stood in their way.  But one dance at their best friend’s wedding changes everything for these two.

I haven’t read the other books in this series, but it was pretty easy to pick up the dynamic between Colt and Lauren.  They loved each, yet let things they’d made up in their own minds deter them from pursuing what they really wanted.  And while I may not have believed one kiss on the dance floor was going to make everyone forget the fights and other nonsense, I was glad to see them get out of their own way.  Would I have immediately jumped into bed with Colt instead of talking things through?  Probably not.  But it worked for this couple and got them to the point they needed to be.

This was a quick read that helped occupying a couple of hours.  Colt and Lauren are young and they could get on my nerves, but in the end Kelly Elliott gave us a couple we could get behind.

Peeking over to Colt, my stomach dropped. The way he was looking at Mireya had my insides turning all gooey. His hand came up as he pushed her hair back and chuckled. “She has so much hair, you could put those little Velcro bows in it.”

Dear God. He knew about the little Velcro bows? My heart was gonna explode. He kept talking and my insides kept melting. “Wow! Her eyelashes are so long.” Glancing at me quickly, he gave me a wink. “Isn’t she so precious?”

If I hadn’t been holding the baby, I would have dropped to the floor and told Colt to take me. The throbbing between my legs was unreal. I was ready to blow off this little party Grace had organized and take Colt back to my house and have my wicked way with him.

Licking my lips, I couldn’t pull my eyes from Colt, who was now gazing down at Mireya and talking baby talk to her.

I felt someone come up next to me. Hot breath was next to my ear as Grace whispered, “Don’t even think about it.”

Kelly Elliott is married to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a knack for making her laugh almost daily and supports her crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason…he claims it’s because he loves her!

She’s also a mom to an amazing daughter who is constantly asking for something to eat while her fingers move like mad on her cell phone sending out what is sure to be another very important text message.

In her spare time she loves to sit in her small corner overlooking the Texas hill country and write.

One of her favorite things to do is go for hikes around her property with Gus….her chocolate lab and the other man in her life, and Rose, her golden retriever. When Kelly is not outside helping the hubby haul brush, move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for her that day, you’ll find her inside reading, writing or watching HGTV.
