Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.
As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town--and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.
But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.
The highly anticipated sixth story in the New York Times bestselling series that began with Real—“a rare mix of fevered obsession and gentle enchantment…a visceral and addicting debut” (Christina Lauren).

I went into this book with skepticism   How can you love anyone more than Remy.  He stole my heart and I was afraid Katy Evans would have a hard time in Legend making me care for another fighter.  However, I am so glad I was wrong.  I adored Maverick.  Adored him.  I love an underdog.  I love a guy who knows what he wants and fights for it.  Katy Evans created a hot, sensitive beast of an alpha male in Maverick.  He is what legends are made of and he didn’t disappoint.

Maverick “the Avenger’ Cage is an outcast in the underground fighting world because of who he is related to and he can’t get a coach or any help.  All he wants to do is fight and prove himself.  He finds his trainer, Oz, who know one wants because he is a drunk.  He finds Oz courtesy of Reese.  Reese is Remy’s wife Brooke’s cousin.  She is a bit of a loner and a lost soul.  She doesn’t feel like she knows what she wants to do with her life so she comes to take care of Remy and Brooke’s son Racer for the summer where she meets Maverick Cage. Reese and Maverick have an immediate connection but they both try to stay away from the other for different reasons.  After a bit, they can’t fight it anymore and the truth comes out.  Reese must decide who she will stand with: Maverick Cage or Remy/her family.  Maverick is all in and he just wants to be loved and have someone fully love him.  Will Reese choose him?  Pick this up now.  You will fall in love with these characters and it will not disappoint.  It was fantastic to see Remy and Brooke in the background but I was so enamored with Maverick and Reese, I didn’t miss them.  This is a perfect ending to the REAL series!

About Katy Evans

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
