[Siren LoveEdge ManLove: Erotic Alternative Romanctic Suspense, M/M, with M/M/M, HEA for M/M] His name was Jack. It wasn't a famous name or an adventurous name, or even a poetic name. But to Mason Philips, it was the most beautiful name in the world, because it belonged to Jack Spencer, the man Mason had been dreaming about for the last ten years. For Mason, it had been ten years of secret yearnings, stolen glances, and forbidden fantasies because Mason was gay...and Jack was not. Jack Spencer wanted Mason since the young man barreled into the pool and showed Jack he had grown up when Jack's eyes were turned. But a warning from Mason's brother sends Jack running, putting as much distance between them as he can. When Mason decides he's tired of waiting for Jack to see him, he packs up and readies to move on with his life. Well meaning friends drag them together with a pair of skimpy black swimming trunks, a pool party, and a lot of jealousy. But nothing comes easy for these two. A psychotic killer has set his sights on Mason and is determined to have him, no matter who he has to take out in the process. Stormy Glenn does it again!  I enjoy her books very much.  They’re entertaining, and they always make me glad that I’ve read them.  With “A Promise Kept”, she has written a book that is exciting, angsty (but not TOO much), sexy, and passionate.  I’m so impressed with it that it’s going to go into my re-read file on the Kindle.

The lead characters, Mason and Jack, are compelling and so well fleshed out, I felt like I was reading about two men that I’ve known for years.  Mason has loved Jack for ten years, and through misunderstandings and interference from someone who only meant well, but instead, caused so much heartbreak, he feels that he must leave him and his family behind simply to save himself from the agony that he’s felt for most of those ten years.  Jack is devastated when he hears of Mason’s departure.  He’d kept his attraction to Mason to himself, and he realized that he’s lost his chance to get to know him better and, perhaps, persue a relationship.  Mason meets some new friends, and he begins to relish in his new life as an outed gay man, but he just can’t get Jack off his mind.

I don’t want to give anything else away.  There are so many twists and turns in this book that you have to settle in and read it to fully grasp everything.  There is some really great scenes between Mason and Cooper and a few other friends that he’s made.  They are comfortable with each other and fall into a close knit group.  I really liked them all.  They were supportive and sweet, and when they all got together, there were some hilarious moments.  I mentioned the angst, and I want to tell you that it’s not so heavy that it will make you so sad that you don’t want to finish the book.  It moves the story along and gets to where it needs to be.  The chemistry between Mason and Jack is so electric.  I can’t really even find the right words to describe it.  Their sex scenes are so hot, primal even.  I became completely caught up in them.  They were just amazing.

All in all, “A Promise Kept” was thrilling to read.  It had everything that I needed to sink my teeth into.  I wanted to read it in one sitting because it was so good, but I did have to put it down at 3:00 am because I couldn’t hold my eyes open anymore.  If you like some really great characters, tense situations, and mind blowing sex, you should read this one.  It may actually be the best book that Stormy Glenn has written…and I’ve read a LOT of her work. Run, don’t walk, and get this one for yourself.
