Reviewer’s Thoughts

KALEIDOSCOPE is fast paced, steamy romance about two people who reconnect after nine years. This is the sixth book in the Colorado series and each book is a stand-alone.

Jacob Decker encounters Emme for the first time in nine years, in Gnaw Bone, Colorado. He doesn’t recognize her at first, because her appearance has changed dramatically, but he does remember her voice. Jacob suspects Emme’s current boyfriend is involved in some crimes being committed in the county, but he can’t tell her, because he is working on the case. Jacob lives in a nearby city and works as a private investigator and is surprised to learn that Emme lives in Gnaw Bone. They meet for dinner to catch up and realize even though so much time has passed, they still have a strong connection.

Jacob he is handsome, sensitive and down to earth. He has a high IQ, but isn’t arrogant or superior about it. Emme isn’t intimidated by his brains, she loves it. Jacob is sensitive to Emme and her needs, but is a bossy, alpha male who always wants to protect her and at times, this drives Emme crazy, because she is a strong, independent woman. Jacob and Emme argue about everything and love a heated debate. Their conversations are like verbal foreplay.

I’m a devoted fan of Kristen Ashley and savor her books. I enjoy her alpha male hero’s and I especially love the dialogue, yeah? As always, there is humor, romance, suspense, steam and drama, although this story didn’t have all the drama and suspense that is usually in KA’s books. Each book in the Colorado series includes a rugged sexy man and a spirited woman and of course, Kristen Ashley’s unique voice.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
