She wants a baby. He wants her. Simple enough, right?
Ellie Godfrey has kissed her share of frogs. So many, in fact, that she fears she won’t recognize her prince if and when he finally comes along. Tired of waiting for THE ONE, Ellie decides to have a baby on her own before it’s too late.
When Jasper Autry hears about Ellie’s plan, what else can he do but step in and offer to “contribute” to her project. Does that make him an opportunist? Whatever. He wants the perpetually out-of-reach Ellie Godfrey, and when he sees his chance, he takes it. That she’s the sister of his business partner and close friend Flynn gives him pause, but it doesn’t stop him from having what he wants.
As Jasper and Ellie embark upon their secret “project,” he makes it clear that for as long as they’re together, he’s in charge—in the bedroom anyway. After the hottest sex of her life, Ellie realizes she’s made a deal with the devil himself. 82,000 words

I loved Jasper. Could have been the British accent (ok…it was), but he quickly fell into my Marie Force book boyfriend list right behind Vice President Cappuano.

For this next installment of the Quantum series, we focus on Jasper the cinematographer.  We didn’t know much about Jasper outside of him being British, worked at Quantum and was close to the principles at Quantum.  But with this book, we find out so much more about Jasper.

Elle, Flynn’s sister, has decided she’s tired of waiting for Mr. Right to have a baby.  And when she shares her secret with Jasper, who she’s secretly had a crush on) she’s surprised when he tells her that he’s willing to help her get her baby.  His only requirements:  the baby is conceived the old fashion way.

Once Elle and Jasper start sleeping with each other, we discover just how torn Jasper is with turning over his child should he and Elle succeed.  Despite what he might say, Jasper wants to be a father.  He wants to be involved with his child.  He just doesn’t want his son or daughter saddled with the responsibilities he’s been.  Seeing Jasper struggle made me love him, but discovering just what he had to overcome to become the man he is today is why he’s now on my Marie Force Book Boyfriend list behind the Vice President.

Elle was an easy character to like.  I understood why she was taking the course of action she was, but I think her true essence came out when she was helping Jasper come to term with his parents and what’s expected of him.

This was a great entry into the Quantum series.  I think outside of Flynn’s story, this one is my favorite.  I can’t wait to see what Marie Force has next for these characters.
