Reviewer’s Thoughts

This book is the second book in the Sheridan series.  I did not read the first book in this series.  The book got off to a slow start for me.  The ladies met up and it just seemed like the dialogue was repetitive and seemed to be going nowhere.  This might be due to the author attempting to make sure that first time readers, like me, could jump into this story without having read the first book.  However, I persevered through the dialogue in the first few chapters and was rewarded with a really good story.

The heroine of this story is Laila.  Laila is a woman done wrong.  She goes to South Beach to vacation with her friends, Sofia and Marina.  She is determined to regain her confidence and get the love she deserves. Ultimately Laila is confronted with the choice of going back to the man that hurt her (Malcolm) or taking a leap of faith and giving a familiar face a chance to lover her (Gray).

The storyline did an excellent job of showcasing romantic relationships and friendships.  I think everyone can identify with those pivotal times in life where friends become the winds beneath your wings to get you through the bad times, celebrate the good times, and kick you in the butt to make you get in line during the chaotic times. Each character in this novel was well-written and multifaceted.
