21853052A dominating security specialist blackmails a skeptical accounting intern to catch a thief. When sensual games of submission become part of the exchange, will she lose her heart along with her job?

*Losing control never felt so good.*

Miranda Golden comes to Louisiana for a fresh start as a no-nonsense intern for an upscale accounting firm. Jack DeLaney, security extraordinaire to the rich and famous, has another plan. He needs Miranda to spy for his investigation, and he doesn’t mind using blackmail to make her comply.

Miranda doesn’t have much choice if she wants to keep her job, but Jack’s domineering ways mean she’s out of her depth when he uses his ruthless charisma to charm her panties off and introduce her to unexpected desires. She doesn’t mind being undercover with Jack, but going undercover at work is another story.

Jack plans to catch a thief and possess Miranda while keeping cool control, business as usual, but soon Miranda proves irresistible. The closer he gets to the skeptical beauty, the more tempted he is to make their connection personal. Jack must find a way to solve his case, while keeping his woman and his sanity. Miranda must prove that she can face her own demons to keep the man who’s come to mean everything.

Jack and Miranda satisfy because their story combines the allure of a fresh start with the sweet edge of new love. They encounter the excitement of dark desires and danger while battling their own hang ups. Losing control never felt so good.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Miranda Golden is new to town and from Louisiana. She is an intern at an upscale accounting firm, when she is approached by Jack DeLaney to help him spy on her fellow coworkers. Jack manages to charm/blackmail her into complying with him. Miranda is a small town girl with small town values and is no match for the big city boy who plays fast and loose with the rules.

Jack DeLaney is the best of the best when it comes to security. He has a lot of ultra-rich clients and he does what he needs to, to get results for his clients. The more time Jack spends with Miranda the more he falls in love with her.

The biggest issue I had with the story was if Jack is as good as his reputation, then why did he need her help in the first place? I had a hard time getting past that point. The chemistry between Jack and Miranda is blistering. The sex scenes were scorching.

To Command HerΒ is the third book in the Last Saints series by Renee Burke. While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone novel. I found this book well written. The main and secondary characters were interesting and engaging. While I did find the overall story a bit far-fetched I still enjoyed it all the same. Overall, this was a great book.
