Through her grandfather, she learns her mother was a vampire hunter. In fact, her entire family is descended from the powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Chloe agrees to join the family she has never known for one reason only: Chloe vows to kill the vampire responsible for her mother’s murder.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Chloe discovers, after the death of her mother, that she’s part of a Vampire Hunter community.  Forced to leave the community after becoming pregnant during her captivity with the vampire, Trevor, she ran to protect not only her community but also Chloe.  Now living with a grandfather she doesn’t know, Chloe wants nothing more than to avenge her mother’s death.  Her first order to business, train to kill Vampires.

Chloe discovers that her mother kept a very large secret from her and she has to come to grips with not only the fact that her mother was something she knew nothing about, but also with the fact that she’s gone.  She also must figure out how to live with a grandfather she knew nothing about and the boy who is going to be her mentor/trainer, Drew.  It’s a lot for a fourteen year old to take in.  But when faced with the knowledge that she can avenge her mother’s death by training to become a vampire hunter herself, Chloe jumps in with both feet.

This novella series starts off with a bang and despite it’s short length, keeps your focus on what’s going to happen next.
