What he doesn’t love is The Aegis, whose leadership attempted to slaughter him at birth. Understandably, he balks when he’s ordered to protect an Aegis Guardian responsible for the deaths of his friends. Really, he’d rather feed her to Cujo.
But when an old enemy rises from the ashes, Eva and Logan find themselves giving into temptation even as they sacrifice the things…and people…they love the most.
I think I cut my paranormal teeth with the Demonica series. I adored that series and happily jumped into the Four Horsemen when that released. So I was very excited to discover a “next generation” book.
LOT focuses on Thanatos’ eldest, Logan. He founds himself in the middle of a competing agency swap that goes awry. Angel, human and demon politics are out of control. Now seems like the perfect time to fall in love. 🤨. The relationship between Logan and Eva was a bit enemies to lovers~ish, but they were never really enemies. It was the everything else going on around them that got into the way until almost the very end.
The dynamics with the next generation characters were interesting (and sometimes confusing). I’ll admit those interactions were more interesting to me than the love story between Logan and Eva.
A decent read, but not one of my favorites from this author.
