Free the crows, Fallon, and they will make you queen.

Until an oracle predicted my regal future, I’d never imagined myself rising above the curve of my round ears. After all, I was the magicless halfling loved by beasts but loathed by every pure-blooded faerie at court. Well... by all but one.
Dante Regio, prince of Luce, had owned my heart since he gave me my first kiss. If gathering a slew of iron relics could help me overthrow the current monarch and crown his brother to rule at my side, then treasure hunting I’d go.
If only the oracle had warned me what winged demon I was releasing into the world.
And that I’d become this demon’s obsession.
Fans of Sarah J. Maas and Mary E. Pearson will devour this epic fantasy romance full of deceit, betrayal, and false loves that could swallow a person whole.

This is one of those books where I’m thankful for Kindle Unlimited.  I don’t know that I would have found it scrolling through Amazon otherwise.

This paranormal romance centers around Fallon a Fae/Human mix who’s looked down upon by the Fae and always forced to hide who she is for fear the crown might learn what she can do.  She has her trusty group of friends, including Crown Prince Dante (with whom she is kinda romantically linked), but that isn’t enough for Fallon.  She wants to change the world.  So when a witch shares a prophecy with her, where she will be queen, she sets off to find the 5 crows and help Dante get the crown.

The devil is in the details and Fallon’s stubborn nature comes back to bite her many times as she tries to collect the crows.  Even when she starts to see that Dante is not everything she thought he was, she still held out this hope he was who he dreamed him to be.  In the same vain, she holds onto the Fae-slanted tales she heard about the Crows and is very slow in realizing that what she was taught may not be right.  She doesn’t see her prejudices coming out right away, but it’s there and it takes her quite a bit to realize she has to change.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next book.  There are a lot of stubborn characters in this book…, especially the hero and heroine, but I took those are quirks that I’m hoping will be chipped away as the storyline continues.
