What Lurks Between the Fates is book three in a series and ends in a cliffhanger. It features content that may be offensive or triggering to some readers.
This has been me since I finished this book last night. I don’t really know what to do with myself.
This 3rd book picks up where we left off, with Estrella and Caldris getting to spend some time with the oh-so-lovely Mab (NOT!). I knew this was going to be a rough ride, but I don’t think one can ever be prepared.
Mab is determined to find out just who Caldris’ mate is. But what sparks her interest, even more, is what Estrella is. She makes it her mission to find that out, which means Estrella and Caldris get pulled through the wringer. Lesser couples may have been torn apart, but not these two. Estrella proves just how strong she is (quite frankly, her time in Misfell was a pre-training camp for what was to come). Mab may see Estrella’s love for those she holds dear as a weakness, but time and time again she proves how wrong Mab is. Love may be Caldris’ weakness, but Estrella is willing to open herself up to the darkness if it means protecting or avenging her loved ones.
The ending of this one destroyed me and had me looking up the release date for the 4th book. I might be recovered by October…we’ll see.
