The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby
Dear Santa,
This is Hazel and I know I’m too damn old to be writing letters to Santa but get out your bifocals and read this anyway. It’s not long and I don’t ask for a helluva a lot so it won’t be too difficult for you to fill my order. Hells bells, it won’t even weigh down the sleigh too much.
First thing I want is for Lucas and Natalie to stop this damn bickering, wake up and realize they were meant for each other. And I want them to do it before Christmas. I’ve got some magic help going on with all the animals on the ranch but Lucas and Natalie have got to start listenin’ to their hearts and pay more attention.
This all has a purpose. I’m getting’ too old to keep working at the ranch but I do want to retire there. Natalie needs to fit in and take my place so that I can do that. I want to go home to Savoy, home to Cedar Hill Ranch, and I want to see Natalie and Lucas happy. So bring me a ticket home. I don’t care if it’s on an airplane, a bus or ridin’ in the back of a rusty old pickup truck. I’d even consider sitting beside you on the famous sleigh if you can’t figure out anything else.
Tell Mrs. Claus I’ll send her a pecan pie if you can arrange it and if you can’t, well, I still know how to build a blaze in the fireplace and honey, you don’t want to test me this Christmas, not if you value that red suit Mrs. Claus whipped up for you.

Dear Santa,
My name is Gibson and I’m a puppy. I know that I’m chubby and cute because everyone says it when they see me. I don’t mind that stuff. I just don’t like the constant scratching behind the ears. (what’s up with that? I’ve got another place I need scratched a lot more than my ears)
Anyway, I just wanted to send you a letter on behalf of my human. Her name is Raine and she’s really pretty, and soft, and she smells nice. As a canine I can appreciate this. But the thing is, Santa? She’s really sad and I think that maybe you could help her.
You see, there’s this other human who comes around. His name is Jake and even though my human Raine pretends not to like him all that much, I know that she likes him a lot. Maybe even more than she likes me, but that’s okay. She needs another human.
So, for Christmas, if you could help them find each other I’d be real happy and I would promise to be a good puppy. And if you could leave me a new chew toy that would made the day perfect.

Dear Father Christmas,
From what I recall of my boyhood epistles to you, I think I ought to tell you, I have been a good fellow this year. I have only raised my voice family members on a few well justified occasions, and really, what man with five sisters isn’t going to shout from time to time?
And as for all those trips to the bowl of wassail, I am blessed with two brothers, and five brothers by marriage. A certain appreciation for this fine holiday tradition must be expected.
In any case, my request this year is that you will please afflict my father, His Grace, the Duke of Moreland, with a slight, passing, case of laryngitis. His Grace has once again appointed himself the Lord of Misrule, and in this regard, he sets a terrible example for my sons, nieces, nephews, and even my grown brothers (both impressionable fellows). The sheer noise he had inspired my dear little sons to create hourly beggars description.
To make matters worse, this year, my sister Jenny has taken a notion to decamp for Paris immediately after Christmas, there to pursue her art. I have high hopes Mr. Elijah Harrison can dissuade her from this folly—being an artist himself, he understands the artistic temperament—but Jenny is nothing, if not determined. If she says she’s going to Paris to study art, then to Paris, she will go.
And His Grace will bellow and shout and argue and bluster, hence my request that for a short time only, you render the duke mute. A few days should suffice—or weeks, if you’re feeling generous. A month or two wouldn’t go amiss either. (Her Grace will likely thank you, too.)
If you must leave Papa in possession of his powers of speech, then perhaps you might arrange for a liberal distribution of headache powders among my brothers and me. If Jenny does leave for Paris, the dubious consolation of the wassail bowl will be all that remains, for us and for poor Mr. Harrison, who will be heartbroken, indeed.
My sincere thanks for your consideration of this modest request, and Happy Christmas, good sir!

I work with a great bunch of SEAL wolves and I just had to write and ask for one thing—not for me, but for my buddy Paul. Good morning everyone…what are you asking Santa for in your letter this year?
I’m really excited about trying this New Adult line. I had a wonderful college experience. I’m looking forward to these young people making independent decisions good and bad.
I’m asking for safe holiday travel for my 3 boys heading north from Florida. A nice I Tablet would be great too. I’d take a new Kindle Fire too.
Family coming home for the holidays…what fun! A Kindle Fire…more fun for after they go back to Florida! Great choices.
I hope my son has a merry Christmas with his girlfriend! They recently moves out on their on. My house feels empty!
You are a great mama to use your wish for your son. The memories they make on their first Christmas together as a couple in their very own home will be priceless!
I love NA stories because the characters don’t come to the story with as much baggage or cynicism. It’s great to see them (especially the male leads) more open to love.

Asking for a new watch this year. NA stories are enjoyable to read because they seem fresh and optimistic.

I wouldn’t call it a draw. I just read good books. Don’t care what category they’re in.
I want Santa to bring me a vehicle. I’m not picky about what type and it doesn’t have to be brand new, but newer would be great.

I don’t think I’ve read any NA books, yet. I think I’d like the fact that the characters are a little older and the relationships a little more mature.
I don’t think I’ve read any that have been categorized NA – tho sometimes the female character is a new adult.
I’m asking Santa for some photos to hang on a blank wall I have – either a group of enlarged family pictures or something pretty with flowers. Plus I need some new wooden spoons.
My Christmas list for Santa is safe trips home for the travelling family members, an Amazon gift card or 2 for books (or the books themselves of course), and after today’s conversation with my sister – a brain for my brother.
The romance of course.
I’d like some books this Christmas. 🙂 From the NA books that I’ve read, they are rather realistic and have a nice bit of spice to them. That’s one of the reasons I like them.

I guess there are two questions to be answered…
I want Santa to ensure my family is healthy and safe.
And N/A don’t have the same angst as the YA and yet the characters still struggle with their place in the world…
To be honest so far i haven’t read NA books but i have at least one on my wishlist since since i asked santa for some books that could change^^ i also asked for the bookshelf ( closed one, metallic) to range them carefully
