Ugh!  Can I just say that I HATE it when an author has a REALLY GREAT idea and they ruin it by making it a short story?!  It is so damn irritating!  That’s exactly how I felt after reading this.

Piggy-backing on the coat tails of the Fifty Shades phenomenon, this story has the same basic outline.  Megan is a young assistant, dreaming of being a successful journalist.  Christopher is the CEO of her company and is overbearing, dominant, mysterious, rich and sexy.  They bump in to each other and it’s lust at first sight.  After a rough start of getting to know each other, a hot and heavy romp session is in order, and that’s all she wrote.  Add in a little sprinkle of drama, and you’ve got your fifty shades.  That being said, there was one aspect to the book that I would have LOVED to have known more about, and where my frustration comes in.

There is a side story of Christopher’s involvement with a mob boss, which is a brilliant idea!  But there is no elaboration on it, and it’s shadowed by the very lengthy sex scenes.  I know, I know, it’s erotica so sex is a must, but I like my erotica with a little more depth.  I would have LOVED to have read this book as a full length novel.

As for the sex in the story, it’s very steamy and very prominent.  I just sincerely hope that the fad of short stories is over soon.  The constant death of potentially wonderful ideas is killing me.
