Reviewer’s Thoughts

First time author Lisa Suzanne has written a steamy, entertaining contemporary romance.

Julianne Becker loves her boss, Nick Mathews. She fell in love with him the first time she saw him at McMillan Marketing, when he was introduced at a meeting. She thinks about him all the time and finds any excuse to pass his office. After working together for a year, Nick surprises Julianne by telling her he has feeling for her. Although Nick is attracted to Julianne and wants to date her, he explains they have to keep their relationship a secret. Nick had to sign an agreement that stipulated he couldn’t date anyone who worked on his team. Julianne isn’t happy about the secrecy, but reluctantly agrees.

I couldn’t help but like Nick, he is smart, gorgeous, great at his job and he always compliments Julianne and makes her feel special. I like the idea of secretly dating your boss, but I also wanted Nick to man up and admit to dating Julianne. I admired Julianne because she is smart and considered the best on her team, but I didn’t always agree with the decisions she made.

Travis Miller is Julianne’s best friend. They grew up together and after dating for a while, they decided they were better friends than lovers. Travis is a handsome, lovable guy who is always there when Julianne needs him. Although they share many things, Travis doesn’t tell Julianne all his secrets.

I enjoyed reading HOW HE REALLY FEELS, I liked the banter between Nick and Julianne and their steamy relationship. My only complaint is I still have a few unanswered questions about the secondary characters. Who knows, maybe these questions will be answered in a second book.
