JUST ONE MORE KISS

There’s no place like home for the holidays. And the Lucky Harbor Bed & Breakfast is bursting with festive lights and good cheer. But for Mia, Christmas is turning out to be anything other than merry and bright. Her recent break-up with her boyfriend Nick has made her return bittersweet. But then a surprise arrives, when Nick follows her to town bearing gifts-and asking for forgiveness.

Nick grew up without a family of his own so he’s overwhelmed by the love that Mia receives from all her relatives, gathered together to celebrate the season. Under their watchful eyes, Nick finds earning back her trust the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. If he succeeds, he will receive the greatest gift of all, Mia’s love for a lifetime.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

This was the Christmas love story I was looking for. This book has everything a holiday love story should: Star crossed couple with hearts of gold? Check.  Great love scenes? Check.  Warm fuzzy family and tons of Christmas spirit? Check.  The best and worst part of the book is that it is a novella so it is a pretty quick read.
The two main characters, Mia and Nick are engaging and interesting as a couple and on their own.  Shavis has a pretty tall order to fill, developing these characters and the story in so few pages but she does it.  Nick is well drawn and you understand why Mia is in love with him.  The entire way through the story I just wanted him to let down his guard and be part of Mia’s family.  It’s a Christmas story so there is a good ending, I’ll try not to spoil it by telling you what it is, read for yourself and find out.
To round out the book there are excerpts from two of Shavis’ other books, just enough to pull you in.  I immediately downloaded The Sweetest Thing after reading the excerpt.    If you can’t tell by now I thoroughly enjoyed this novella.
