8748285It starts with a kiss. It’s nothing more than a peck on the lips, but the impact is huge. Probably because it’s one of her husband’s friends and colleagues who just kissed her quite deliberately. Alexandra is tired of her routine life. She’s tired of being a housewife, of taking care of her husband Nick’s needs 24/7. He revels in the routine they’ve established, you see, but she’s starting to hate it.

So, when Mike kisses her, she starts fantasizing about him and his hard body. About what might or could happen. What if he really proposes her? What would she do then?

When Nick informs her that Mike is too drunk to go home after one of their parties, and that he’s going to stay in their guest bedroom, Alex’s pulse speeds up. Does this really mean what she thinks it does?
What happens next will change their lives forever… The question is: will it be for better, or worse?

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Sorry, I did not really enjoy this one…It was a short story, so I understand how difficult it must be to strike a balance between keeping the story short and sweet, but also revealing enough information to draw a reader in. For me, this just did not have that balance. I couldn’t get lost in this book like I usually enjoy doing. It seemed disjointed and rushed.

I wasn’t very invested in the characters because they just weren’t developed–there was no depth to them. Therefore, I didn’t really care what happened to them. The events were so rushed and the chapters ended so abruptly that it felt disjointed to me. I didn’t feel like there was time for the story to develop. It seemed like a list of events, there was no natural flow to the plot.

On a positive note, I did think the story ended in the best way it could have.
