Love ReclaimedOwner of one of the most successful brothels in London, Madame Marie Marchander has seen and done it all. Jaded by the hand life dealt her, she gave up on love the night her virginity was auctioned off twenty years earlier. But then the boy, now a man, she once loved walks in to her establishment.

Jonathan Pierce, Baron Heartfield, had waited too long to save the woman he loved. A man no longer bound by the vows taken as a boy nor under the influence of his father, he is determined to woo and win the heart of the only woman he ever loved. The fact she was forced in to prostitution is of little consequence beyond the guilt he bears for not interceding with her father.

Resolved to prove to Jonathan that she is not in need of saving, nor is she an appropriate wife, Marie agrees to take him as a lover for six months. Steadfast in his love, he launches an assault on her heart with all the strategy his years in the military afford him. His only goal, to reclaim her love.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Love reclaimed is more of a novella.  It’s short, spicy, and sweet.

Jonathan Pierce, Baron Heartfield, is on a mission.  He wants to reunite and pursue a relationship with his childhood sweetheart.  He is older, wiser and determined to have the woman that is his one true love.

Marie Doring known to her girls and customers as “Madame Marchander” has become accustomed to her life.  She was sold into a brothel at a young age while her first love was away.  She has since become the sole proprietor of the brothel.  She is content with having saved her sisters from a fate as dire as hers.

When I started reading the novel I though Jonathan was a little stuffy and would have a difficult time accepting the changes that occurred with Marie while he was away.  Whether it was a daring sexual adventure or courting someone else he took on the task with gusto and passed with flying colors.  I really fell in love with his character because he was so honest and sweet.  His fear of losing Marie again drove him to go above and beyond to win her heart and convince her that she was enough for him.

Marie believed that her life path made her unacceptable to be Jonathan’s wife.  I loved reading about the tests she chose to see if Jonathan could truly love the person that she had become.

This book was a quick, steamy read that warmed my heart and made me believe that true love really does conquer all.
