Computer security specialist Elizabeth Martinez has never been able to turn her back on her brother Benny. When his risky lifestyle finally lands him in harm’s way, Elizabeth finds herself dragged into the dangerous underworld with him and into the cross hairs of one of Miami’s death-dealing drug lords. Only after her ex-boyfriend saves her does she realize she might have no choice but to depend on the one man she has tried so desperately to forget.

Former Marine Porter Caldwell never should have let Elizabeth walk away from him all those months ago. She means more to him than anything and now that she’s in danger and turned to him for help, he won’t make that mistake again. When a local gang targets her and she’s nearly killed in a drive by shooting, Porter vows to do whatever it takes to keep her alive. Even if it means turning his back on all that he’s sworn to uphold.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Katie Reus kicks off her Red Stone Security Series  with a great story about a sister who is willing to do anything for the older brother who’d do anything for her and the man who’s family she works for that has vowed to protect her.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Martinez works for Red Stone Security as their computer surveillance expert, despite what her society parents wanted her to do.  While her parents have written off her brother, Benny, she will do anything for the older brother who saved her from abuse as a child.  But where Benny’s addictions before have had Lizzy bailing him out with mostly money, this time his request for help puts her directly in the path of a notorious drug cartel leader.

Porter Caldwell would do anything to protect Lizzy.  Even though their relationship ended before it got started, he still would do anything to make sure that whatever trouble her brother gets into doesn’t hurt her.  But when he discovers Benny now has Lizzy on the radar of a drug cartel, he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure this woman who is under his skin stays safe.

A lot happens in about 100 pages, but those events will keep you on the edge of your seat.  Porter and Lizzy have the perfect chemistry with each other and when they finally give in to all the sexual tension surrounding them, they are HOT!

Katie Reus does a great job of building the Red Stone Security world and the characters we are going to get to know in future releases.  She manages to emotionally pull you into the story from the very first paragraph and leaving you wanting more from the Caldwell family.
