2940045214384_p0_v1_s260x420Honey Holbrook is trying hard to leave her past behind her and make a new life for herself. A former spoiled, rich, wild child, her attention-grabbing antics were tabloid fodder for years. Now she has a new job, a new home, and is staying out of the limelight. But the first day of the new job doesn’t go like she expects when her boss and coworkers make it clear she’s not wanted there, and the first project she has to work on is with pro hockey player Matt Heller.

Matt and Honey had a wild and wicked fling eight years ago when he was attending summer development camp for the California Condors – the NHL team Honey’s dad owns. But the relationship ended when they argued over the loser friends Honey hung around with and Matt had to return to college hockey. Before he left, Matt talked to Honey’s dad about Honey’s exploits. She felt betrayed and rejected, and threw herself even harder into her partying lifestyle while Matt tried to carve out a career for himself in the NHL.

Now Matt’s back with the Condors but recovering from a serious injury that has changed his whole outlook on life. He’s not impressed to be working with Honey Holbrook, although her cleaned up image arouses his curiosity. And arouses something else…

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Eight years ago Matt and Honey had a fling that ended badly. Matt is a hockey player with the NHL’s California Condors. Matt grew up in Winnipeg and is a down-to-earth, good guy who is popular with everyone. He is the fourth and youngest brother in the Heller family to play NFL hockey.

Honey is the daughter of the owner of the Condors and just started working for the non-profit organization for the team. Honey is a reformed wild child, trying to put her past behind her. Her dad gives her the position and she encounters animosity from the people she works with. I admire Honey’s grit to try to turn her life around.

Matt and Honey are thrown together again working for the Condors Community Foundation, the charitable arm of the Condors. As they work together on the foundation, they realize they still have sizzling chemistry that is hard to ignore.

This is the fifth installment in the Heller Brothers series. Each book is a standalone story revolving around a different Heller brother. I loved reading each book and I’m sad Matt is the last Heller brother and the series has come to an end. Kelly Jamieson has written a fast paced hockey romance with down to earth characters. It was easy to connect with Matt and Honey and sparks flew whenever they were together. Matt stole my heart. He is an alpha male, tough guy hockey player, with a heart of gold. Can Matt and Honey put the past behind them?

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
