Posted October 19, 2014 by Shannon in / 1 Comment

billionares bodyguardBillionaire Alex Roman needs a bodyguard. His best friend, Jesse Emerson, an ex-Security Forces Specialist, needs a job. What could possibly go wrong?

Jesse thinks protecting Alex will be a piece of cake. He’ll get to spend quality time with his oldest friend while avoiding his ex-girlfriend. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned. Why would Alex introduce him to everyone as his lover? And why didn’t Alex tell him about the threatening notes he’s been receiving for months?

Alex has been in love with Jesse for years, not that he’d ever admit it to his best friend, but he’s not above making a practical joke out of it. Telling everyone that Jesse is his boyfriend will go a long way toward relieving the stress of the threats he’s been plagued with recently. Unfortunately, when someone tries to shoot him at a charity gala, he discovers that maybe he needs Jesse’s skills more than he realized…

…because sometimes a billionaire’s best friend is the fake boyfriend who’s really his bodyguard.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Billionaire’s Bodyguard”.  From top to bottom, it was just a really great story.  I know.  I know.  There are a lot of people out there who would say that the whole billionaire thing was overdone.  Not for me, and I don’t see myself changing my mind anytime soon.

Erin M Leaf put together the perfect book with just enough romance, intrigue, and mystery.  Oh, and then there’s the sex…lots and lots of really hot sex.  Jesse and Alex have such an awesome chemistry.  The best of friends, the two of them have always been attracted to one another, but  nothing has ever happened.  Alex is bi, and Jesse is straight.  Or is he?  After that bit of exposition, “The Billionaire’s Bodyguard” really takes off.

I honestly wished this book could have been longer.  I’m serious.  It was so well written and planned out, from Alex and Jesse’s relationship, to the background characters.  Even though it is a relatively short book, a lot of thought was put into it, and it felt like I was IN the story.

I hate when someone gives spoilers in a review.  I don’t like to do that either.  So, I can’t do anything but tell you that, if you like your manlove hot, your plots interesting, and pace exciting, “The Billionaire’s Bodyguard” is for you.  It certainly was for me 🙂
