Reviewer’s Thoughts

I really enjoyed “Weekend Surrender” from Lori King. It seems like every woman’s fantasy. Four sweet, handsome, sexy men who are in love with one beautiful, but incredibly stubborn woman, and who want to give her everything she’s ever wanted or needed. Oh, and let’s not forget eight hands, four tongues, and four…well, you get my drift.

Rachel has just had a humiliating breakup and is heading to the local watering hole to pick up a cowboy for a satisfying, but completely unemotional, night of hot sex. Along come the Brooks brothers, Parker, Hudson, Sawyer, and Rogan. Each of them has had feelings for Rachel, and when they see her in that parking lot, dressed for trouble, they take the opportunity to make her aware of that. She doesn’t believe them, but when they make her an offer she can’t refuse, a whole weekend alone with the four of them having awesome sex (with the intention of convincing her that they really want more), she finds herself at their ranch prepared for a LOT of fun and a LOT of orgasms…but determined to leave on Sunday with nothing more than great memories.

The book takes off from there. This is a very well written story with plenty of detail, and when I say detail, I really mean insanely hot sex. The brothers all love Rachel, and they are bound and determined to show her that.

I have one complaint, and it’s a rather significant one. Rachel drove me completely crazy! I get it. Her father left her and her mother and started a whole new family, and her ex was a cheating bastard, but the constant, “They’ll just wind up hurting me too” attitude got really old. I started to find myself disliking her, and I didn’t want to. She was willing to let the best thing that ever happened to her go, rather than taking a chance. I was so glad her best friend, Zoey, and a lovely woman named Diana, got in her face and made it clear to her that she was missing out on a wonderful thing just because she was afraid. In fact, Zoey even presents the idea that, rather than being left so often by other men, maybe Rachel just pushed them away herself.

All in all, “Weekend Surrender” was a really good book. There’s a great story, a smooth writing style, and wonderful, sexy heroes. I completely recommend it to anyone who would ask.
