Reviewer’s Thoughts:

I’ve always like opposite attract stories.  It’s fun to see just what an author will do to put two characters together.  In this case, Marine Captain Tim O’Shay finds himself married to free spirited, fate believing Skye McDermott.

Tim and his fellow marines head to Vegas for a weekend of blowing off steam prior to their next deployment.  While Tim is generally the guy who doesn’t drink and watches over his friends to ensure they don’t find themselves in trouble, he lets himself get talke into a night of drinking and gambling.

Skye and her best friends are having a girls night out (at the Casino where they work) when they hear cheering at a nearby gaming table.  When she sees the man gambling and winning, she’s instantly attracted.  When he seems to feel the same attraction and then later proposes, she agrees figuring Fate has a grand plan for the two of them.

Skye had some guts.  I’m pretty sure if I were in her shoes and awoke the next morning to find my husband gone without a trace, I’d find my way to the nearest lawyer and figure out a way to undo what we had done the night before.  But Skye didn’t.  She found her “lost” husband and high tailed it out to Twenty Nine Palms, Ca.  She had reservations and doubts about what she was doing, but she still put in the effort with her marriage.  She was even willing to dress more like the other wives, if that meant if made Tim’s life easier at work.  Gutsy.

I really liked Tim.  For such a by the book guy, you could see he had a wild streak that needed a release.  His release, was through his wife.  He loved how she dressed in bright colors, that she was messy and wasn’t content with him taking care of her but rather wanting to contribute to their household.  She balanced him out and that had Tim enjoying the little things in life a little more.

A fun read that will have you itching for the next one (please let it be Jeremy and Madison).
