Reviewer’s Thoughts:

“Good Lord, give me strength. Please keep the local firefighters away from me. Keep me out of the path of hardened abs and tall men in uniform, for they are bastards, one and all. Amen”

If that opening line isn’t enough to hook you and reel you in, nothing will! This line alone gives you a taste of things to come. Juliet is a somewhat quirky woman with a broken heart who has sworn off hot men in uniform. So of course, fate being what it is, her new, and older fire captain boarder turns out to be 6 plus feet of hotness with rock hard abs. With the hottest thing since slice bread living under her roof, Jules has to fight temptation at every turn. Not that Captain Shane if helping matters in the least. Intrigued by the pint-sized whirlwind of a landlady, Shane is fighting a losing battle to keep things purely professional. And boy is it a battle to be watched!

With an arsonist on the loose, a stalker shadowing her moves and an ex boyfriend who has finally realized he let a good woman go; Juliet and Shane have the odds stacked against them from the very beginning. Up in Flames is a quick read with never a single dull moment. If this were a movie, the explosive chemistry between Juliet and Shane would light up the screen.

Not my first book by Ms. Leo and definitely not my last.

  1. I’ve read two of her books so far and I’ve absolutely loved both of them. By those stats, she’s definitely an author I’ll be following in the future.

I’m glad my review helped. Enjoy the book! 🙂
