Review: Down to You – M. Leighton

One girl. Twin brothers. An uncommon triangle.

When college student Olivia Townsend returned home to help her father run his business, she never imagined a complication like Cash and Nash Davenport—twin brothers different in so many ways but with one thing in common: an uncontrollable desire for Olivia.

Cash is dangerous, sexy, and bad to the bone—a man whose kisses make Olivia forget she is playing with fire. Nash is successful, reliable and intensely passionate—and already taken. But all it takes is one soft stroke to make Olivia forget he belongs to someone else.

However, Olivia is in for a surprise. These boys have a secret that should make her run away as far and as fast as she can. If only it wasn’t too late. A sensual game between three players has begun, and it’s about to spin deliriously out of control.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

When I read the blurb for this book, I was intrigued as to how the author was going to pull off a love triangle between brother.  OK, I was split between being grossed out about one of the brothers having to be sloppy seconds after the other and curious about just how Olivia was going to split her time between Cash and Nash.

Olivia finds herself immediately attracted to a man she thinks is a stripper at her friend’s Bachelorette Party.  Instead she finds the arrogant man is actually the owner of the club she was at and is irritated at both the way she was attracted to him and how he thought her reaction was amusing.  Then she mets her cousin/roommate’s boyfriend and discovers that arrogant man from the party has a twin.  A twin she is just as equally attracted to.  Olivia is fighting an attraction to both men and wondering which one is actually better for her…Cash or Nash.

As I read this book, what kept my interest was Cash and Nash.  I got the feeling early on that there more than meets the eye to both of them and I was dying to find out what it was.  I will admit, without spoiling the surprise, I was caught off guard by their true story.  But once that comes out, other things that may have stood out before become very clear.

Cash was always labeled as the bad boy, the one who didn’t finish high school and wanted to run a bar, while Nash was the brainy, by the book son who went to law school.  You could see how both of them would attract Olivia, as she did have a tendency to want the bad boy she could reform.  But with Nash, he represented everything she thought she should need: stability, loyalty, sweetness.  However, what Olivia really needed to do was believe in herself and know that she could pick the right guy and it wouldn’t matter if he was labeled as a good guy or not.

Definitely a fun book to read and one that had me instantly wanting the next book in the series.
