81DKAMji8SL._SL1400_Lady Celestria eagerly travels with her aunt and cousin to participate in festivities at King’s Keep. Decades ago, her father had met her mother in the courtyards. He took one look at her mother’s face, sank to his knees, and declared his undying love. Celestria believes this is where she will find true love also.

In the forest, less than a day’s ride away from the keep, they are attacked by bandits. Celestria fights alongside the guards. Outnumbered and disarmed, she faces her death bravely.

Then a warrior dressed all in gray, breathing smoke and fire, enters the fray. Celestria knows he is the one, the man she is destined to love. He doesn’t know he’s her future husband, however, and he is riding toward her, his sword raised.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

This short story is what I would call a charmingly sweet erotic romance. It begins with Lady Celestria, a unique lady of her time, she prefers a good battle, not relying on others for her own protection. But when she finds herself facing sure death during a fight, the feisty little warrior must accept that even she needs protecting.

Her protector is Grau of Starke, a Dragon Lord leading a charge of knights, when something pulls him to Lady Celestria in her time of need. Upon arrival, he and his men slaughter her attackers. It’s at this moment that he realizes he must claim her as his. To his surprise, Lady Celestria feels indebted to him, and insists that she repay him by curing what she can only assume is battle lust. From here, the chemistry between the two of them grows in intensity, leading them down the path of sexual exploration and love.

I have to admit that I’ve grown somewhat tired of the repetitiveness in a lot of erotic stories. It always seems to be the exact same storyline, just with different character names and occupations. But this little short story was a breath of fresh air. While primarily driven by the sexual encounters between the two main characters, there was a very unique romance that developed between them, leaving me wishing that the author had taken the time to write a more in-depth full length novel.

If you’d like something a little different to add to your erotic repertoire, I’d recommend this very well written short being a nice place to start.
