It’s Bridget Jones meets Groundhog Day…

Ever wonder if you made the right choice? What if you could go back and find out?

31-year-old Clara is in a steady relationship—with Facebook. Every night after her depressing bureaucratic job (so much for saving the world), after coming home to her empty apartment Clara settles down with a pint of ice cream for some good, old-fashioned Facebook stalking. It’s her college boyfriend, The One Who Got Away. He now has a perfect marriage, perfect house, perfect life—everything she could have had if she hadn’t been so, so stupid.

But, wait. Jeanie from Facebook shows up at Clara’s job. There’s a new app they’re beta-testing and Clara’s perfect for it. That night she clicks on it and… nothing happens. But the next morning when Clara wakes up at noon, hung over, listening to her roommate blow-drying her hair and singing “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It”, she realizes she’s back in college. With the chance to do it all over again.

Back in the world of frat parties, BFFs, and long-suffering, overlooked lab partners, join Clara as she discovers what it really means to hit the reset button on life. What could possibly go wrong? And, this time, can she get it right?

Reviewer’s Thoughts

I liked this one! Readers need to be able to embrace the Genie part and a little time travel, but I didn’t have trouble with that. I don’t normally read “fantasy” type books and I wouldn’t put this one in that catagory at all. It is a fun love story with a lot of humor.

Clara is going through a rough patch. She is feeling a bit like a loser–she feels stuck in her job, broke up with her boyfriend, but inherited a cat from the relationship and she might be a bit out shape…That’s due to the wine and hours stuck on the couch trolling on Facebook. It definitely doesn’t help that she obsesses over “the one that got away”. Her college boyfriend seems to have it all, according to his Facebook profile. He’s got a great job, lots of money and a beautiful wife. Clara regrets breaking up with Brad right before college graduation. Her life would have been so different had she stayed with Brad….

Magically, she gets a chance to see what life with Brad would be like if she hadn’t broken up with him at that frat party. Of course, we always have to be careful for what we wish for, right? Clara learns this lesson–although it takes a little time. It’s fun to be able to look back and see how one decision can change one’s entire life. Clara gets the benefit of this lesson without the burden of having to grow old since she does it through time travel.

I loved the happy ending. I loved Clara’s transformation. I was even fine with the “fantasy” part of the story. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes a fun, lighthearted romance!
