The perfect drink for a One Night Stand, by Radhika Sanghani

In my latest novel Not That Easy the 22-year-old heroine Ellie Kolstakis has only slept with one person. It’s not out of choice, so much as a lack of options.

She decides to up her game with some one night stands. Here’s the kind of cocktail she’d mix in preparation for a big night out…

Berry good sex – the one stand cocktail every girl needs

No one can afford fancy blueberry vodka, so I say make your own. Shove some blueberries in the bottom and start smushing them up. It’s up to you how many you want but if you want to get your five a day while you’re at it, put a handful in. Then save the rest for your next drinks – by the time you’ve had four cocktails you’ll have had a whole packet of berries!

Now get the ice out. Stick it in the glass and start crushing it down so you can fit as much vodka in there as possible.

Which brings me to… the spirits. Get the vodka out. Why bother measuring it out when you can just pour it in to a glass? I’d go for a halfway line now.

It’s probably best to keep it simple now so I’d just go for some lemonade or low cal soda water depending on whether you’re dieting.

Add in some lemons. Or limes. Whatever you can find in your flatmate’s fridge. Just squeeze one in there.

Now if you’re one of those people who grows herbs in their garden, I’m judging you. But I’m also jealous. Get some thyme/basil/whatever you want and stick it in the drink for some fancy vibes.

You’re pretty much done now. Just stir it all around and make as many as you can to prepare you for the rest of the night.

Good luck.

aboutthebook

“Even Bridget Jones’s Diary could take a page from this novel.”—Joan Rivers (on VIRGIN).

Ellie used to be a virgin, but now she’s a woman with sexual experience. Well, some sexual experience. She also has debt, an unpaid magazine internship, and three flatmates who left her with the single room to match her single status.

That’s okay. She doesn’t want a boyfriend anyway—she wants several. And if the sex is exciting enough, her ruthless magazine editor boss can exploit her dating life for a column.

After countless hook-ups, a disastrously fiery encounter with some heat lube, and one orgasm class, Ellie is faced with the sad reality of her sexual ineptitude. But when she starts to witness the emotional wreckage she’s leaving in her wake, Ellie realizes that sex can be hard, and there’s a down side to giving it up too easy.
