Easton Hayes has been my knight in shining hockey skates since he saved my life.
This devastatingly handsome grump may be everyone’s favorite goalie, but to me, he’s my strength when demons haunt my dreams. And okay—so maybe he’s also the only man I’ve ever loved. But he doesn’t need to know that.
We’re friends.
It works for us.
At least, it did. Until I wake up with his ring on my finger and the hangover from hell. But what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas when he refuses to give me an annulment and follows me across the country instead.
Now our families are furious.
Our friends are playing matchmaker.
I’m getting goosebumps each time I hear the words “my wife.”
And I think my husband might be in love with me.

I always enjoy a friends-to-lovers story.  Sprinkling in a drunken Vegas wedding and hockey and I’m all in.  But this story fell a bit short for me, especially considering the history between Easton and Lindy.

These two had been through something very traumatic and were close, but never crossed the line with each other.  But then Lindy’s birthday weekend in Vegas happens and caution is thrown to the wind.  I didn’t mind that part of the story so much.  It was clear these two cared about each other, had feelings they thought they were hiding and finally decided to act on them.  It’s the craziness that happens after.

  • fallout with her family – I’m sorry all their friends were with them in Vegas and witnessed the wedding.  No one comes to their defense?  Come on!  I can understand the family asking why, but Easton isn’t a stranger so I would have hoped they would have given them each the benefit of the doubt.  Baby of the family or not, she’s an adult.
  • Feelings – I get the feelings Lindy has for Easton are complicated, but she gave me a whiplash with her flipping from “I’m so mad at you” to “here’s my v-card” about face.
  • Paps – I’m not sure what the purpose of this sub-plot was, other than to prove how much Easton loves Lindy with her family.

I’m probably missing many pieces to this story that came from the other interconnected series.  That might have made a difference (at least with the cast of characters in this book).
