An exciting new series featuring Mike “Primetown” Brown, a character from her popular “Black Ops, Inc.” series.

For the seven years after Operation Slam Dunk went south, Mike Brown got drunk on each anniversary. The eighth year was no different–until he was drugged by a woman and woke up to her questions about what had happened eight years ago in Afghanistan. CIA attorney Eva Salinas has her own theory behind what happened to Mike’s team–which included her husband–in Afghanistan eight years ago, and she’s determined to prove foul play. Though she doesn’t trust him, Mike is the only person she can turn to for help. Under an assumed name, Eva convinces Mike to assemble a new team and go after the traitor who screwed up both their lives. As they track down the rogue who started it all, Eva and Mike discover they can’t live without each other. But can they stay alive while an enemy is still on the loose?

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

This spin-off of the Black Ops Inc. series, Killing Time, has it all!  Romance, suspense, humor, it is easy to see why I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  The characters were fun to get to know, and the intense journey that their lives took had me turning page after page until I was finished.  I had a hard time putting it down!

The story is centered on Mike, a Black Ops soldier who is sexy, strong, stubborn and tenacious.  He has spent years agonizing over the loss of his team.  He drowns himself in his sorrows every year on the anniversary of their demise.  Mike is the kind of character that you can relate to.  You can almost feel his pain, and will find yourself cheering him on as he tracks down the person responsible for his deepest scars.

Eva is the perfect match for Mike.  She lost her husband, a member of Mike’s team, and will fight tooth and nail to find out the truth about what happened that day.  As a CIA attorney, the very beautiful and intelligent Eva uses the powers of persuasion to convince Mike to go after the answers they both seek.

The touching romance that develops between Mike and Eva sheds light on the hope that those in even the darkest of situations can find happiness in the warmth of another.  The suspense of the mission Mike takes his new team on is nail-bitingly intense.  And the bits of humor scattered throughout the story are lighthearted and fun.

I have not yet read the Black Ops Inc. series, but after reading this, I can’t wait to start.  I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in this new, exciting series!
